Hey Guys,

I had the marconi router and returned them twice now. The first time cause the port forwarding just stopped working and second time cause i assumed it stopped again. I just got the adsl 5100 modem yesterday and have been trying to get it to work. I have followed the steps on www.portforward.com (though did not find the firewall option at all) and Azureus still says the port is blocked. I have tried several different ports and was wondering how do you get it to work? It used to work on the weakass marconi router but the last two routers, this one included seem to not be working. I am tempted to go return it AGAIN but is the port forwarding forked or is the ADSL line boned?

I have used the little web utility and the "ATM LOOPBACK TEST" fails so is that a problem? I have no freaking idea. Somebody help a brutha out :?

Hi webby!

To configure port-forwarding on the Telkom (Billion) ADSL 5100 modem, do the following:

1) Login to the modem's web-based configuration utitlity with your username and password.

2) Under the 'Advanced Setup' menu, select the 'NAT' menu...

3) In the 'NAT' menu, make sure that the 'SUA Only' option is enabled.

4) Click on the 'Appy' button in the NAT menu.

5) While you're still in the 'NAT' menu, click on the 'Edit Details' link...

6) In there, enter all your port-forwading rules - and then save your settings by clicking on the 'Save' button.

That should sort out your problem! I hope it helps!

NOTE: In my 'WAN' menu (under the 'Advanced Setup' menu), my connection is configured as Route-only.

Route = Enabled.
Bridge = Disabled.
Half Bridge = Disabled.

I've entered my ISP username and password into the modem itself - and the modem will establish a nailed-up connection to the Internet.

Nailed-up = If my connection drops for whatever reason, the modem will re-establish my connection to the Internet automatically.

Good luck!

P.S. Don't worry about the "ATM LOOPBACK TEST" failure, I get that too! ATM is a different type of Internet connection. If I'm not mistaken, ADSL uses PPPoE technology, while ATM uses PPPoA technology.
