some cipherwave router they gave me. mitorok or some ****. the thing is that i know they wont let me change it. ive researched this on these forums and i dont know what to do.What router are you using?
what kind of router? and can i just plug it in. i mean the fibre goes through a big box and then into the mikrotik router so are you sure if i do that itll be ok
What fibre network are you using? What is your fibre line speed?
If less than 100Mbps most routers will work. If you use Vumatel trenched then set the router to dhcp mode. If you use like Openserve, frogfoot or vumatel gpon then you need to set it to pppoe and insert the username and password that home connect cipherwave needs to give you.
They probably won't. I have had major issues with Fibre.
They give you their pre-configured router and then a big fuk you...
Took me 6 months to get port-forwarding set up at 3 sites by Liquid Telecom. They refuse access to their routers and you cannot just stick in your own one, as it is not configured.
If it's Trenched it will be mac locked to the tik so they will need to release the IP either way.Supersonic locks the Zyxel router too. Easy to bypass but they also gave me the pppoe details so I can use ANY router I want.
I'm surprised home connect cipherwave is locking it down like that although the router is quite advanced so people that don't even know the difference between wifi and fibre can usually mess up the settings blaming the ISP.
I'm pretty sude they will give you the pppoe details and on vumatel you don't even need to call them just swap it out and enable dhcp for vuma teched that is.
If it's Trenched it will be mac locked to the tik so they will need to release the IP either way.
Hmm this explains why I couldn’t use another router , who clears the MAC address lock, vumatel or isp?If it's Trenched it will be mac locked to the tik so they will need to release the IP either way.
