Hi,

I have a PC setup at home with Apache running on it, I would like to be able to get the port to forward to my internal PC.

The ADSL modem is a Telkom Mega 100WR. Has anyone done this yet. I have registered with Dyndns, got my domain registered and set it up in the adsl admin.. It does resolve to my modem, but need it to get through to my pc.. please help

isnt there a page in the router config that you specify this. I remember with the old marconi modems there was a PAT (Port Address Translation) page, where you say port 80 goes to 80 on ip x.x.x.x etc

Hi All,

Port forwarding for the Mega 100WR is relativly simple.
Bwana : the link that you provided is for the Marconi unit, and the Mega 100WR is DEFINATLY NOT a Marconi unit.

The process is as follows :

1) Set up a Dynamic DNS account, and configure your router to use it (since
you have already done this, i will not go into detail now ). If you are
fortunate enough to have an account with a static IP address, then this is
not neccesary.
2) Make sure that your Apache server is on a static LAN IP address, and that
the address is on the same network range as the router.
3) Access the Web configuration page of your Mega 100WR, and select the
ADVANCED tab.
4) Register the static IP on the LAN, LAN CLIENTS page by
entering the required info for the Apache server (Host name and MAC are
not needed, but can be added for security). select APPLY
4) Select APPLICATIONS and then PORT FORWARDING
5) Select the SERVERS button
6) Select the IP address of the Apache server from the LAN IP drop down
list.
7) Select "Web server" from the "Available rules" list and click on ADD
8) click on APPLY

Thats it ! if you wish to have other services running on your Apache server, you will need to add them seperatly - what we have just done takes care of forwarding for HTTP and HTTPS ports.

hope that this helps.

Thanks - I knew that was a possibility - thats why I provided the second link. Never used a telkom router :o

Thanks for the info though. :)
