Well, since everyone got uncapped last night, I can't even connect to the Dark Age of Camelot server. *grumbles*. So I phoned ADSL support, and was told "sorry but your web browsing is fast, right? So what is your problem?" by an operator called Gavin.

Nice attitude. And no, apparently there is no possible way to unblock the ports needed by the game.

What I would like to see on Telkoms web site is a BIG BOLD DISCLAIMER stating that nothing other than web browsing is supported.

I really hate Telkom. Probably it's because of their arrogance and pig headedness when it come to dealing with members of the public who throw 1000's of rand every month their way. So I'm going to cancel my ADSL account, and hope that Sentech's offering at the end of the year provides a usable solution.

*mutters*

I agree with you, Telkom should inform their prospective clients about the limits they have imposed on ADSL. All they ever mention is the cap. Thats a big downside, but when it comes to port prioritisation, it's totally and utterly ridiculous. If we were informed about this, a lot of us would not have gone ADSL.

So Telkom has made it so that all ADSL is in South Africa is a "so called" always on connection to browse and get email. Who of us can justify spending R1000 a month for browsing and email.

On the upside, I do believe that enough pressure on Telkom by "concerned citizens" like us and all the big nobs we can get on our side, we will get results.

No wonder I get 0.7k on Project Entropia :( Gues they wanna keep the heavy downloading via p2p down, but why the heck should my game suffer cause of that.
