Port prioritisation - video conferencing/voice query

Hi
I'm aware that with shaped ADSL packages the ports are prioritised... but how bad is it? Can someone please put this in context?

Example:
With dialup I can do a webcam conference on Yahoo Messenger without any problems, yes the frame rate is slow but the connection is stable.

How do you guys experience webcam conferencing while using ADSL?
Is it better than with dialup? Faster frame rate? Steady connection? Or is the port prioritisation for video conferencing set so low on ADSL, that webcam conferencing might even be better on dialup?

Same question goes for voice conferencing and webstreaming.

E.g: If I listen to say Highveld Stereo on the internet, will I get a steady uninterrupted sound with ADSL without any buffering? With dialup I get a steady connection but there's buffering every few minutes or so, and then the sound is coming through clear again.

Any info will be appreciated.

Yes, much better than dial-up. I've regularly spoken to my brother and video conferanced with him in the UK

There is a little buffering in the beginning of the stream, but once it's going, it will remain
