Portable DVD player Advise needed !

So im taking my family to Dubai and Egypt in December, and i think im getting one of those outdated planes and my kids are going to be bored for 8 freekin hours.I thought maybe a portable DVD player might do the trick. I see TEAC has a player with two screens,and since i have two kids , this might be the answer, but do any of you know of anything that has long battery life etc. that will help my situation ? (I dont mind buying two seperate players).

buy them a gameboy, or two. something with more lasting value and will surely keep them entertained long enough if you buy them a proper game or two ?
Because can guarantee you that the DVD player will probably only be used once. And if that price tag is to heavy, or you want something more educational then crayons and a colouring book/drawing pad, or reading book could just aswell do the trick..just my opinion, cant see kids staying to entertained by a 7" screen with no interaction for 8 hours.
But yes, guess if you really do want to buy a dvd player then a teac should do the job. Otherwise maybe just take a netbook/notebook and load a movie or two to keep them entertained.

Usually the cheapest airline to Dubai is Emirates and they have very modern planes with movie playback, games, music, etc on the built in LCD.

Activity books did come to mind, but MY kids are movie addicts, it can keep em going till they fall asleep. I'll definately consider Gameboy though. Thanks

Unfortunately I am travelling to Dubai VIA Egypt so using Egypt Air. I am even in Business Class and i doubt its 'comfort'. Under normal circumstaces, i only fly emirates ( partly because of Skywards though.)
