Hi all
Ive got a Jackery 500w lithium portable power unit, and I am thinking of combining this with an industrial 3pole relay switch to use during loadshedding. (for change-over when power goes out)
Any comments?

Powering what? (just out of interest)

Nice; is it working ok with the Gizzu on charge all the time?
It works but it's far from ideal. These units aren't meant to be plugged in and running 24/7 but mine is a temporary solution. With the power being off so often having it constantly charging isn't so bad as I would need to charge it anyway, considering it takes so long to charge from the wimpy power brick.

I do question it's longevity in this situation though, I don't have much faith in the build of this unit. I think the Jackery units are slightly more robust

And the Tklot change over switch; is it fast enough?
The jackery feels pretty solid, but the price is a bit crazy.

I've got a small UPS connected to the other end, so I'm not sure exactly how fast the changeover is. But it's advertised as 20ms which isn't too bad and should be fine for most things.

Totally forgot to ask: How does the UPS handle the modified sine from the Gizzu?

Hi DrJohn, the link isn't working anymore (not surprised :) ) but I'm looking for a way to switch automatically from AC to a Jackery when we have blackouts.

Did you find a permanent solution?
Hack: Use a normal ATS, but use a UPS before your Tv ect to take up the slower changeover of the ATS

Thanks for this, the TV isn't connected so it doesn't matter if there's a delay

I could ask my BIL to help, he's good with 'lectric but I was hoping there was something that didn't need wiring available.

Like this plug and play, it's only 15w but I think that's enough to keep my CPE, 1 x Unifi AP, router and Sonoff bridge going.
