I am not 100% sure which ports you want to use on MIRC but I will assume that you want to use the following ports…
IN TCP 1024 – 5000
IN TCP 6660 – 6669
IN UDP 113
My assumption is based on the following example…
IP ADDRRESS OF P2602 ADSL ROUTER – 192.168.1.1
IP ADDRESS OF PC – 192.168.1.2
The procedure us as follows…
1. On the main page choose NAT
2. Make sure the NAT is set to SUA mode only
3. Click on Edit Details
4. Enter the Ports as shown with the IP Address of the PC that it should be forwarded to
5. Click Save
6. Click Apply on the screen where you can choose the SUA Mode
The above process allows you to configure the port forwarding from all the MIRC requests directly to the PC on your network.
The next step is to configure the firewall.
7. On the links on the side, choose the firewall option
8. Choose the Default Policy Link.
9. Make sure that the settings are exactly the same as in this screen
10. Click Apply and then click Back
11. You will be on the firewall functions screen. Click on Rule Summary
12. In the Packet Direction, select WAN to LAN rule. This will allow specific ports to be forwarded from the LAN to the WAN.
13. Select Rule Number 1
14. Select Edit Customisable Services
15. On the Next Screen Select 1. In this option you will need to add the ports that the firewall will need to recognize.
16. Since there are three port ranges, you will need to make entries in Number 1, 2 and 3 for these ranges.
16.1.The first entry will be as follows
· Enter a Name for the Service in Service Name
· Select the TCP Service Type
· Select Range for the Port Configuration Type
· Enter the Port range
· Click Apply and Back if need be
16.2. The Second Entry
· Enter a Name for the Service in Service Name
· Select the TCP Service Type
· Select Range for the Port Configuration Type
· Enter the Port range
· Click Apply and Back if need be
16.3.The Second Entry
· Enter a Name for the Service in Service Name
· Select the UDP Service Type
· Select Single for the Port Configuration Type
· Enter the Port number as is
· Click Apply and Back if need be
17. The customizable services should look as follows…
18. Click back button to go to the firewall screen
19. Highlight the Services that you created and click on the ADD button. The services that you have created will be preceded by an Asterisk.
Do this for all three services
20. In the same picture above, you must make sure of the following…
· Action for matched packets must be set to forward
· Source address can be set to any – unless you know the Mirc Server address
· Destination Address must be set to 192.168.1.2 for the PC on the LAN
· Set the Schedule to Everyday
· Time and Day to ALL DAY
· Click Apply
21. Once the last step is completed, then you should be able to forward these ports directly to a PC on your LAN. If this does not work, then the problem may be with the Service providers firewall settings, of which there is nothing that I can really do.
