I would like to sign up for a VM contract where I get the Nokia 6300. They tell me it is only for new subscribers and not for existing ones. So basically, I have to port to another network before porting back to VM, so that I can get the phone!

The question is, to which network? It will only be for 3 months. I would like the port to be hassle-free. Any suggestions on network / package?

I think Pre-Paid would be better as I don't like signing debit orders.

Porting from MTN contract was not pleasant. They continued billing me for nearly 6 months after port date and has to this day not refunded me! So please, DO NOT MENTION MTN!!!

I'd rather complain to VM that they should treat existing customers better. It's BS to port and port back just so that one is not an existing customer.

Else just hit a VC store and tell them you want to port to Prepaid. However I don't think the entire exercise is going to make sense $$$ wise.
