I'm trying to change port my number from Nashua Mobile (Vodacom) to Cellucity (Vodacom SP, obviously also Vodacom) so I can get an iPhone 3Gs.
Applied yesterday, said it should take about an hour. Seemed the Vodacom system was down yesterday, then this morning they got a response saying it was rejected because of "the wrong account number". Double checked, we did have the right account number, so they tried again. Then phoned Autopage to see if they could give any advise, Autopage told me that the request was rejected because we requested a port from a business account, not a personal account. (Never mind the fact that the account is in a company name, apparantly it's still a "personal" account).
Now, Cellucity says the Vodacom system is down today, so they can't cancel the current request and put in a new request saying it's personal. Getting pretty frustrated by this, especially as if I can't port by Monday, then I will have to cancel and try again next month. Any suggestions? Is it worth trying to contact Vodacom directly?
Does anyone know if the Porting system really is down, or if this is just an excuse? Otherwise, I'm also not RICA registered (never heard of it prior to phoning Autopage and getting an automated notification), would this prevent porting from happening?
