Porting secondary sim number

I have dual call on my mtn account. Can I port the secondary sim number to another network?

Currently the 2 numbers are on an expired contract. So do I have to transfer it to prepaid first then port it?

Unsure if it is possible. Best would be to find out from MTN. If they can't do it I would be surprised though.
