As far as I know all ports (TCP and UDP) are open and more importantly they all have the same priority.
The troubles with port 80 seems to have been solved, but you would not use that for usenet.

Sentech does not shape any traffic, and they do allow connections to/from any port.
The port for usenet is 119 (nntp)

That is strange.
Only when I connected through an international proxy did I get full torrent speeds as well as more stable pings in WoW.
I remember reading that Sentech stated in the Broadband Shootout that they don't shape any traffic, but my test results show otherwise.

Odd. I know for a fact they don't shape traffic. Consider though, that the same might not be true for ALL of their upstream providers, e.g. UUNet, MCI, or the rest.
