Positive CELL C Woooooosh Experience

Most of the threads deal with some or other problem. Perhaps it may mislead a potential customer in that he/she only observe problems. How about also posting positive experiences - then the scale is more balanced.

So, if you are moderately satisfied to very satisfied about your Cell C internet experience - make it visible here. :)

I've been complaining about network issues in the Western Cape, slow upload speeds in Cape Town, constant disconnects and only being able to go to www.cellc.co.za because I've experienced wooosh! in the past. Things do seem to be getting fixed now though.

So overall I'm doubly happy (one SIM in my speedstick and one SIM in my N900), my father's happy, four other members of my immediate family are happy, Uitsig Animal Rescue Centre are happy and quite a few people I work with are happy.

I have to agree with you, people don't generally come to MyBroadband because their connection is 100%, they come to MyBroadband because they're having a problem and seeking help.

Apart from a few minor glitches a few weeks ago, I have had great service.

Now what about towns like Grahamstown, Rustenburg and Tzaneen ?

That would be the cherry on top !

very happy with CellC. have been using the speedstick for a few months now and have had no issues.

I think the thread title should "Positive CELL C Woooooosh Experience"

Firstly I want say thank you to "Cell C" Staff for actually taken the time read forum threads and comments started on mybb and responding to "PM - Private messages" when they can be with their family during this precious time. We have "The Real CELLC CEO - Chief Executive Officer), CTO (Chief Technology Officer - Ron aka as Baldy), CellC Representative and CellC-Guru. - Thank you guys/ladies for being part of the forum you peeps make it #BrandPlus being a client of yours if u communicate day/night whenever you can - not forgetting other social networks such as; facebook and twitter.

I have tried all the above mention except facebook. Did get a response from all them :)

When I first started using "Cell C -Woooooosh/Internet product" I knew I didn't fall under the coverage but took a gamble with over R7000 and was impressed I was able to use the service in December with a lot of hiccups and disconnections but happy to see during January and February things starting to improve from upload speeds etc (not bad for a network being switched on in JHB for approx 4months).

Also happy to report using services like Skype/Google voice - no delay whatsoever and the other party can hear me clearly for hours non-stop without the call dropping - tried this on other networks and the calls get dropped frequent. Best Connection Alive - 7 days non-stop without disconnecting from woooooosh network :)

To all those that complain - if CellC go down for a day (Patients - the woooooosh connectivity will be resolved) - If Cell C can get a network status / page up and running then a brandplus initiative to them for making a difference in the mobile space and being open about matters....

Happy with the price I am paying for Cell C wooooosh even if its money paid upfront - saved on telkom line rental, dsl line rental and isp charges - which passes saving into my pocket and also means Mobile Connectivity where ever I have "3G woooooosh connectivity" (Saving me on WiFi charges that charge an arm and a leg) - Cell C Wooooosh = Value for Money :) even if we are gunei pigs - during the fine tuning of the network :)

Will fix up once I manage to get near a pc

A few weeks ago also had a few probs hopefully its just growing pains more than happy to deal with it if they arent too common besides when i was using vodacon speeds were often only around edge or couldnt connect at all. I think ppl should only have mtn or voda data prepaid for backup or outside cellc 3g area.

Ive been with Cell C for 7 year's. Never changed once and I must say having 3g+ on my phone is great :) Since they only had gprs a while back. They are def heading in the right direction.
Keep it up Cell C!!!

Ah yes, the savings made is a major ++
And the mobility vs price another ++
Just keep on working on all issues as reported & make use even happier ;)

Firstly I was one of the lucky myBB members that were invited to the Gauteng launch. Got a Cell C t-shirt and the E1820 dongle.

At first I could only get EDGE in my Suburb. Then in the middle of January they upgraded a tower near by. Now I could connect at 3G, but RSSI -93dBm.

Eventually thay upgraded the tower 800m from me. Now I get RSSI -51 dBm and +- 10mbps Download speeds.

Now I know those speeds won't last forever as more users will be connecting to that same tower, but I'm happy for now.

Also, it's not perfect, sometimes it does disconnect, but at these prices (in my case free) I can't complain.

So yes, so far very happy with Cell C.

I really do hope they get bigger and give MTN/Vodacom a run for their money.

Speedtest:

After being stuck on EDGE since mid Jan I've had Whooosh now for about 5 days. I'm very happy at the moment. I hope things stay that way.

I am a student living in a 6 man house in CT, got the dongle 3 months and managed to convince the rest of my house mates to buy the dongle. Been very happy for the past 3 months, aside from the issues earlier on this week. Best and cheapest 3G option out there.

+1 true you get great value for money.

I had quite a number of issues with regards speed and connection towards end Jan and early Feb, got updates on the situation and cause from both Ron and another CellC rep and was kept up to date with developments in resolving the issues in the forums and via PM, there has been measurable improvement and things just seem to be getting better, well done CellC, you guys rock!!! :D

I had major connectivity issues up till last week but it seems sorted. I now stay connected for days and it's really awesome to have fast internet.

I've always felt it's criminal to fork out some R400 odd a month before sending (and paying extra for) a single Byte of traffic. I can click on a Youtube video and it just plays, and after all my browsing, windows updates, etc. there's still some left to download the odd tv program I missed cause of a crashing pvr. Cell C FTW!

I'm really pleased. The speeds sometimes get a bit slow compared to when originally launched here in Cape Town.

They do say your data doesn't roll over. Maybe they forgot about me? I hardly use my connection and I've tried a balance enquiry and on a 2GB p/month account I've got 4.8GB remaining for this month :)

So I'm happy, guess data does roll over :) :)

After the billing upgrade, everyone was given 5GBs for the month. So if I were you, I would use those 4.8GBs before the end of the month.
