Possible to trace a BBM number?

I know this is probably a long shot but is there anyway to trace a BBM number?

My sisters phone was stolen a few weeks ago out of her bag and the idiot has just bbmed one of her friends.

I am still trying to find out what they said etc, but man I would love to trace it and find these twits.
 
Not from the network side no.....We can only trace a phone on the network with the IMEI number, and to do this you would have to request it from the police. There was a thread on here not so long ago where the same thing happened. The guy BBM'd the Blackberry PIN and said there was a prize to be won or something and the guy fell for it.
