So I received an AARTO notice by mail. It was past the final date on the AARTO notice.

When I went to the Post Office they were all "Oh sorry, we sent it back already, and you must go to the traffic department".

Where in Centurion/Irene can I find a traffic department shop in order to query/pay this?

TIA

Ook (not happy at the moment)

Was the notice sent via registered mail?

If not, throw it away its not legal.

So they sent you a letter to inform you that they sent you a registered letter containing the infringement?

Is it not the Post Offices job to send you a notification that a registered articled has arrived and is awaiting collection?

Also, if that is the case then the Post Office should have a record where the receipt of the article was recorded when they received it at the office. If it is not recorded then it was never received. That in turn will mean that they are lying in their letter when they say that the infringement was sent to you......

Just want to make sure I understand this....

is there any central (online) database that one can query to question the validity of fines? i have a few first notices (do they still send out subsequent ones nowadays?) but some i can see on paycity.co.za, some on viewfine.co.za and none that i can see on aarto.gov.za.

There should be a tracking number on the letter, this will show you where it has been since it was posted
