Post office and Customs

I ordered something on AliExpress the end of May and The Order came in rather quickly than I expected. When I track my parcel to check where it is, I see it has been in Johannesburg for customs since the beginning of June and now it's August so I don't know if I should give up or if there's still hope that I can still get my items. I went to the post office in 2 weeks ago and they told me that they still haven't gotten anything. How long does it take for items to be cleared?

A very long time. It boders on the ridiculous. I don't order if it comes via CM or USPS
