If you’ve been waiting a long time for a parcel from the Post Office, the State-owned postal service says it is experiencing hold-ups due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“The SA Post Office would like to advise its customers that mail processing does not take place at the normal rate under lockdown 3 regulations, leading to delays, particularly in international items,” spokesperson Johan Kruger said.

Kruger said they currently have a third of their workforce owing to regulations governing social distancing on their sorting floor at mail processing facilities.

"Yeah...um...the delays are because of, um, because of covid, yeah, covid."

Had a parcel posted on 26 May 2020 from DHL and sent to post office. Not even a local tracking number available.

LOL, a few years ago I waited 2 years for a parcel from the Netherlands to arrive. More recently someone sent me a parcel from the USA. NEVER arrived and nobody at the Post Office could ever tell me what happened to it.

I will never use the Post Office ever again. I warn anyone wanting to send me stuff to absolutely NOT send stuff via post to me.

They were on Covid lockdown before the rest of the world. Now they can proudly advertised that they were the forerunners of what was to come.
Nope. They just got back to speed, after the yogurt incident, when the opened the next package and it was a six month old CovID PPE shipment. ;)

Waiting for very important documents from Australia. Apparently SAPO isn't accepting any international mail since April...

I've had parcels from aliexpress accepted by last mile carrier (which would mean our local postal service)?

Does anyone know if there's a way to track parcel via delivery address or importers code?

Unfortunately the tracking numbers I have are not the ones that can be tracked further then the initial carrier (no country code at the beginning and end).

the way how i tracked my parcels was going to the depot (cape mail) and they asked for the number you got on aliexperess and their system converts is to a local tracking number

Did your tracking numbers have two letters at the beginning and end? Mines only has two at the beginning which is not helpful..

my numbers from aliexpress looked like this RV2X82XXXX4CN and UC5X5X6X28XYP (some numbers replaced with X ) :)
