Post Office expects R1.3 billion loss

Well yes that's what happens when you don't do anything for 9 months.

Lark Rise to Candleford in 9 months

Post office employees do not solemnly promise:
'I do solemnly promise and declare that I will not open or delay or cause or suffer to be opened or delayed any letter or anything sent by the post'
If they could do this little thing, it would help a little.

When you start to count all the lost revenue which public companies would otherwise have put through their books to shareholders, this figure comes as no surprise. Just another failed parastatal; sadly.

If the entire government dropped down dead today, not only would nobody notice, but the country would actually function much better. What a bunch of useless oxygen wasters.

Wow only four months late. That really is good work guys, they have met the first performance metric for the year. Only 41 million wasteful expenditure. Excellent stuff performance metric number 2 met. 213 million unauthorised expenditure. Wow another excellent statistic. Bonuses all round again this year folks.

Really excellent work from the post office, just like all the other parastatals..............

On a serious note............... another expected loss of massive proportions. Money which could have been well spent on improving the lives of ordinary South Africans. To the 62% that voted to keep these people in power........ you deserve everything that you are getting and I hope you all starve and suffer away.

To the 38% who didnt vote for this, I really dont know what to say other than keep your chin up and hope things get better.

I wonder when they are going to start shutting down branches and retrenching staff.

Just checked my tracking number for parcel sent in October last year. Amazingly, it has been delivered... to someone with a completely different surname... in durban. I'm in Cape Town.

To be expected when you don't deliver a service for 9 months in the year.
On the positive side the Sapo is still solvent, with its total assets at March 31 last year exceeding its liabilities by more than R2.3bn.
I wouldn't consider selling assets to meet liabilities a good measure of solvency.

So my Ebay parcel actually arrived. Not in working condition though.

Had to throw it away.

FU Post Office
