Post Office workers revise salary demands

IMO unions should be scrapped. They're partially responsible for our snail-slow economic growth..
 
So they started striking for 15%. Now after what, 2 months, they revise it to 7,5%. But they want 15% for next year then?

By April next year, they want to have in place an eight percent increase plus CPI (inflation).

8% + 7% (current CPI for 2014 is 6,28%, and I doubt it will come down any time soon.)
 
Idiots don't realise that they've actually lost money during this strike, much more than a 15% increase would be able to compensate for. But hey, anything for a good struggle, makes 'em feel like they're part of something...

Why bother with 5%. Hell, demand 300% and stick with the demands. Eventually settle on 250% increases. Government will eventually give in and take it from the small number of tax payers. Government will not fire them. They will threaten, but eventually give in to any demand if it continues for too long and they realize they are loosing money.

Eventually government will intervene.

No government in the world can govern properly if they do not have control over their postal services. Risks are increased trillion-fold for a number of things that could go wrong.

We will soon hear about a bail-out at the tax payer's expense.
 
The post office can't afford even a single percent increase... offer them nothing.. wind up the post office as it is now. Start a new business and offer a certain salary for staff that can deliver.
 
At this rate management's response will be reflected in the retrenchment letters.
 
I cancelled magazine subscriptions and switched every thing I could, like bank, telkom account etc. to e-mail. When these guys get back to work they will most likely be faced with reductions in staff due to the reduced demand for their services.

One way of waking the strikers up is to send their pay cheques by mail..!!
