PostBox-Courier.com how to

I once ordered a drill bit and it came in a box big enough to fit a small child. When I see Greg on Monday I'll ask him if he can solve this type of problem by repacking every box regardless or at least on request. Sometimes I'd prefer if no-one opened some of my boxes :p

I fully agree, thats why they need to ask - easy enough to put a button on the website saying do you want this repacked or not.

I have tried to register for their services two days ago. Did not receive their confirmation email. Checked Spam and Junk folders, nothing.

Communicated to two of the online chat support persons and they said would forward the issue to their Manager.

No response since.

Seems to be a problem with their website.

Anyone else having issues registering and are they still _open for business_ ?

Sorry not sure on the registration but they are definitely in business. Shipped stuff last week with them and another consolidation due any day now.

Thanks. Strange that it would take three days to register for the service and no response at all from them on queries via the online chat and emails to them.

Anyway, going to register with Aramex Global shopper.

Admin isn't their best virtue by any stretch of the imagination so they will need to get this jacked up to avoid losing customers.

I use them a lot simply because the system isn't automated (unlike Stackry for example)

Their website had some issues recently which they have now fixed, but saying that, emails sent to both Gary and Greg directly are ignored, they just don't respond.

Just last night, I once again communicated with one of their online chat support persons who assured me that she would _immediately_ escalate my registration issues to the Manager who she said would contact me directly on my provided email address for registration.

Still no response from anyone, which implies that either the online support person did not forward the request to their Manager, or they are not looking for any further new business.

At least that is what is appears to me now, since I first entered my registration details four days ago.

I have plenty of stuff that I would have loved to consolidate via their services, but this has not been a confidence building experience.

I have even tried registering with another email address and did not get any response on that one either, and that was two days ago.

Pity.

UPDATE: All sorted now. Successfully registered and account activated.

Apparently due to a mail server issue which has since been fixed.

Gary communicated directly and advised all is well now with their systems now!

Awesome :D

Good news, hope the everything else goes to plan.

Two orders in the UK delivered to the depot last Thursday and Friday.
Consolidated and paid for Saturday.
Departed UK, Sunday.
Johannesburg, Monday!

I'm impressed. The ability to consolidate packages is really the appealing aspect of the service.

Now to try the US depot. If that works out then I can cancel my myUS subscription which is getting kinda pricey.

Would be nice if they could repack everything into one box, to save on shipping costs

How do you track a PBC shipment? I paid and was told my package would depart yesterday. Also does anyone have any feedback on PBC in 2018? How quick are they? Hoping to receive my package in CT this week from their UK depot

That is what normally happens. There may be exceptions of course.

I requested it, and was told they only did it when the original packaging was unusually large. Their website didn't inform me of the added cost to ship packages from different retailers as GroupShip either

I shipped some stuff last last weekend and I had it in my hands on Tuesday. Once it leaves their depot you can't track it but it doesn't take long. The first indication that something is happening is when you get a customs invoice. Thereafter delivery is imminent.

Thanks for the feedback.

Any idea on what I can expect for import costs? Ordered 5 items, totaling about 40 British pounds, with the most expensive item being 12 pounds

The clearing and disbursement fees will be the same but the VAT won't be so high on that value. Maybe R500 in total?

Good gracious. R500 on items not even totalling R700? So with the PBC shipping fee, I'd have paid almost R1000 for a kilo of goods? That can't be right :(:(

It all depends on the overall value though. Clearing fees compared to low cost items seems lopsided but their admin costs are the same irrespective of the item's value. That's why it's important to consolidate parcels. I don't ship until I have over ten to twenty parcels waiting for me. I normally have three other people sharing shipping costs so unless you need the item in a hurray rather consolidate. This isn't just PBC related of course, every courier has a standard charge. Seriously, get together with three or four friends and wait for the Christmas specials and then ship the consolidation.

Most of the items are fresh Coffee Beans. Treating myself and trying some UK roasters. Not many friends share my passion :crylaugh: I did check the duty costs of importing Coffee though, and they're either 6c/kg, or zero. So I'll hope and pray that my bill isn't too high
