I got this potential client that wants to shoot with me but wants the images to be put on stock photo websites. According to her one of her friends did a shoot with a photographer and now her images have been used in adverts mind you that friend never saw a cent from the photographer and so basically all this potential clients wants is to see her pics in adverts. Personally I'm not that convinced in Stock Photography but I'm sure you other photographers have some input on this.

How much will you get paid to take the photos?

Most ad agencies / calendars / whatever use stock images if at all possible: they know what they are getting and it is far cheaper than a shoot.

That said, if a library does accept your image, it must be sufficiently unique for it to be noticed: the libraries have tens of thousands of pix from which the client will select one or two.

Whilst I am not disputing what your client is saying, the odds of photographs from a single shoot being used in multiple adverts is pretty low - unless the photographer has an art director as a buddy ... :)
