I've upgraded my line to a 40mbps VDSl and was wondering if a normal pots filter will do as we use the line for telephone calls as well? Or is there a special filter for VDSL?

The POTS filter is technically a low pass filter to allow audio tones through to the telephone but not the higher frequency dsl signals, so I guess that an ADSL filter will do the job fine for VDSL signals.

An ADSL filter will not work on VDSL but a VDSL filter will work with both

Any Idea where I can buy one in SA?

You should have receive one with your router?

Otherwise go to a Telkom store, but you pay extra to have them deliver it to you behind the counter (they are seriously expensive at Telkom the last time I checked).

Should you not be able to get one, go to a pc store and ask them to order one…
