Frayed at the computer end - near the magnetic plug. This sort of thing has not happened with my "Made in 1981" Communist hairdryer which has been used by many people since that time.
Panasonic computers also strengthen their power cords at the bends too. Why Apple does not, and why Apple's stuff always frays and finally fractures is beyond me. Surely it's not because they want to sell more of them.
