On Sunday, the trade union Solidarity said it had created a website where businesses and ordinary South Africans could log their Eskom-related grievances.

Power exports stopped

Eskom announced on Sunday that, in light of the country's dire shortage of electricity, it had stopped supplying power to neighbouring countries.

Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia were reportedly gripped by power failures on Sunday night as a result of what was described as a major electrical fault.

Would the same statement hold true when our maize stock has been deplenished? I can just see the headlines:
"Thousands dying of hunger every day - but worry not, this is a positive sign that the country is growing to the extent that we actually exhaust the capacity to feed our Nation...."

If you'll look at the pattern in Africa at most of the counties , during the first 10-20 years after independence the country is booming then the country is busted and turned into anther basket . This is the process that South Africa is experiencing at the moment.
Can Mbeki bring new power stations tomorrow ? I don't think so . So South Africa will go in the footsteps of it's Africa brothers.
