WHAT!!

No, it should have been catered for. We should have been happy that the new power stations were all fully utilised, and that they kept pace with growth. That would have shown "foresight".

It was a joke based on the poverty causes AIDS thing.
A reminder that Mbeki's involvement is not to be taken as a good thing.

Instead of viewing the problem as an energy crisis, it should be seen as an indication that more efficient energy consumption was needed.

Agreed - BUT that should NOT be taken as an excuse. For too long we've had cheap electricity, and didn't care about what was guzzling electricity.

And Mbeki - I don't trust him anymore ever since Selebigate.

Everything keeps going up, fuel goes up, food goes up, this goes up, that goes up, except the power which goes down

They also come as the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and Public Protector Lawrence Mushwana team up to probe the power crisis.

What can they do? Will be interesting to watch - the brown stuff had finally arrived at the fan, and it's now broken with lots of brown stuff spread all over the place...
