Is anyone else experiencing a power failure around the paarden eiland area in cape town? It's seems to be quite a large area.

It's the first power failure we've experienced in the 2.5 years we've been working here...

We're out, offices on Marine Drive, and a buddy who is in offices on north side says they also out

Anyone know the cause/reason for the outage?
Edit: Thornton area here.

Seems like city of cape town provided areas are out. Eskom provided areas seem to be online

Cape Town - The City of Cape Town’s electricity section says it is working to restore power to a large area in the city’s southern suburbs which has been affected by a power failure.

According to a statement, the cause of the outage is unknown at this stage, but the city confirmed that there had been an electrical failure on its network.

The following areas have reported electricity disruptions: the greater Athlone area including Heideveld, Bonteheuwel, and up until Epping and surrounds, as well as Thornton, Langa, Belgravia, Crawford, Rondebosch East, and the Vanguard Drive area towards Newlands, Mowbray, Observatory, the outskirts of Woodstock, Paarden Eiland, and Maitland – as well as many surrounding areas.

The city said it was not able to predict how long the outage would last until it has determined the cause and extent of the damage. - IOL

FYI, It was a failed switching unit at the Athlone switching station. It was mentioned on 567 yesterday.
