Power supply was interrupted in Eersterust and Murrayfield, Pretoria, on Wednesday, due to cable faults, the Tshwane municipality said.
"The residents are currently experiencing a power outage which was caused by multiple cable faults," spokesman Selby Bokaba said in a statement.
Technicians were working on the problem and it was expected that electricity supply to both areas would be restored by midnight.
