Hi guys

I have a commercial nespresso machine that I am wanting to make mobile.

It needs 2410W and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the feasibility of building an inverter to run this off batteries and if so how long could it last?

Apologies for the general ignorance in this question

Thanks!

4x 200ah batteries that are fully charged would probably only run 2-3 hours at max. When you are looking at 2400W you need about 10x 300W solar panels in full daylight to run of that. Just trying to say that in order to make a mobile 2400W system is quite difficult. I would get a 3KW inverter, (3000VA=2400W) as there are always losses and you can't run the inverter at max for 8hours, it will kill it very quick.

Cool thanks for the reply!

I figured that this was going to be a challenge - I had no idea that this coffee machine was going to be so power hungry.

How mobile is mobile? Is this in a trailer mobile or carry around?
the batteries will be fairly heavy for this need

You will need in excess of 18 100AH Batteries, to run for 8 hours.

A 2400W Inverter costs close to R6000, batteries are roughly R2000 a piece.

Its just not economical, not for any heating device in general.

Either get a power supply on site, or use a genie

Generator...but nobody would want to sit and enjoy their coffee with that amount noise around them :p

Pretty sure a silencer can be built to decrease the noise. Its his only bet. An Inverter system wont work out, just too costly.
