The East Rand in Johannesburg, otherwise known as Ekhuruleni, has had a monumental 3 day power outage. This is definitely something to write about to my friends sitting pretty overseas.
They think they have the answer to global warming but in actual fact our very own Eskom has an unbeatable plan of their own.
Simply allow the electricity grid to blow along various parts of the assembly line thereby ensuring that the energy guzzling citizens don’t increase their consumption.
It’s an easy case of supply and demand. If there’s no supply the demanding hordes won’t be able to up their usage and therefore global warming is kept at bay.
Problem is that all sorts of business owners start to complain because they can’t make money but if you come from a solid socialist background it’s merely capitalist carping.
Personally I would prefer it if they kept this new scheme in the East as it becomes rather uncomfortable without juice to feed my energy hungry habits.
Hopefully, Eskom will not see fit to continue with this policy and will look West, or more accurately North-West like Spain or England, to where they are building wind farms and installing solar panels everywhere. Sure, it’s expensive but with their new rate hikes on the cards maybe some of that surplus dosh can be used to actually build something.
