power over ethernet

Yip, Tplink make affordable ones, seem decent, around R400 each, cheaper in packs.

I'm on 3 phase electricity and somehow it works across the phases. They are some old Trendnet devices I got many years ago. Out of the 4 devices, 1 has packed up. The monitor shows that the one link is running at 464 Mbps and the other link at 51Mbps.

I use a long-range wi-fi access point which is powered over its ethernet cable, using an injector. Handy, since it's mounted in the ceiling.

All our work phones are powered over Ethernet.

If I ever get IP cameras for my DVR, I'll probably have to get 2 x small POE switches to power the cameras that would not be mounted close to a power source.
