Power Steering (EPS) Failure

I need some advice again. I want a Diagnostic to be done on the GWM. So far I have been quoted R650 by GWM/Suzuki (Their service is terrible so far) and R850 by an Auto electrician. Are these rates reasonable?

Just for the diagnostic? I really don't know, especially if you don't know that the issue would be fixed, if it is a known issue and they would do some software upgrade which would solve the issue then it's not too bad. I would go through the dealer in this instance regardless of the terrible service, I trust them to know more about the issue than a random auto electrician.

Yes that is just for the diagnostic, plugging in the laptop and print the results. I'll let them then do the diagnostic and interpret the results, will take it from there then. Had to wait at the dealership for an hour last week to do the diagnostic after which they asked me to come back another time as the guy is still busy on another vehicle. Hope the diagnostic at least shows something useful.

Sound right depend on their hourly labour rate. Suzuki they still cheap compare to Honda's hourly labour rate of R750.

Anywhere every dealer have their own rules I have not done any diagnose on my car, but the guys at Honda told me to diagnose they charge one hour labour.

Hi i also gave a opel corsa utility.but the probkem is that my eps steering cuts my engine out sometimes when i make a sharp turn.then i have to restart my car

Okay, probably a loose connection that reacts to the engine movement when you are making a sharp turn or a failing alternator or battery. Does it cut off when you amke a full turn while not moving?
It happens when i am at low speed.for instance when i am at a stop street and pull away turning left or right turning sharper than normal.also when you want to turn into a driveway when you turn sharper than you normaly would.i have a sudden loss of power steering, and if i keep it there it cuts the enjin,if i am fast enough to let go of the steering it recovers.i have to stop and switch on the enjin again if it kills it,then it would be fine again for a while

Looks like some safety mechanism.

Pull out the fuse for the electric steering and put it back again. Just note this will reset the computer if you wanted to do a diagnostic. You can also disconnect to connection to the electric motor and the sensors for the steering and reconnect it (for the GWM it was easys as everything is behind the steering wheel). Turns out that and pulling out the fuse and insert again fixed the issue for the *cough cough* GWM.
