Hi
I just purchased a PS3 Slimline and require a longer power cable. I dont like wires/leads lying around so i need to run the power cable which is 10 metres away from my entertainment centre.

I suppose i can extend the existing cable but that means i will loose my warranty.

I went to zakspeed to order a longer cable but they dont have any. They were gonna give me what they call a "standard" cable which i can extend myself.

I am not too happy with that advise. Should the ampage not be the same as the original cable?

Anybody know where i can buy an original power cable for the ps3 slimline?

Question I ask is how does your entertainment system recieve power? Did you also run the power cables from your entertainment system 10 meters to the nearest power outlet? Extending the cable does not void your warranty as the power supply is found inside the PS3. Either extend the cable or buy an extension.

The salesperson at the store said it does... or maybe she does not know what she is talking about...

I know that the phat PS3 uses a normal cable that the PC monitors use. But I don't think you will get a cable that long. In terms of safety, maybe just buy a 10 meter extension cord.

The PS3 Slim uses the same 2 prong power cable as the old PS2 and some HP Deskjet printers. Only 2 wires - no earth.

ok, if you don't want to buy an extension cord, can't you add a double adapter to your existing tv's plug so you have space for the ps3's power?

i don't see why you would want to make a 10 meter figure 8 cable?

but if you really want to, go to any place that sells any electronics and buy a new figure 8 cable, then cut that one and extend it. then you can leave your ps3's figure 8 cable in the box and hence not void your warranty....
