Was hoping for some help in picking a PSU. Building a new PC with an E8500 & HD4870, along with the usual other stuff (1x HDD, 1x DVD/CD etc). Will also need to handle external HDs, Ipods etc, though I imagine that doesn't matter much.

So, how much is enough, and does the brand matter? I've seen folks here recommend the Cooler Master 460W, would that be enough?

If so, has anyone used it with the CM-690 case (or another case with the PSU at the bottom), I hear the wires are short and can be a problem.

Any help is much appreciated!

I also have the same case And i got the gigabyte odin 800watt psu.and had no problems with the wires.

Those calculator always over estimate the Watts you needed. In the beginning I thought these ones are good too, until I saw how much one of these monster system really use under idle/full load with one of those device PC's PSU plugged into directly in the wall socket and take the reading from there accurately.....
