Hi guys just need a bit of help my computer screen just randomly goes into stand by. I have a Geforce 8800GT Extreme graphics card and as soon as the fan begins spinning it does the same. Also found when switching the computer on it come on and goes off and comes back on again. Even with the graphics card out the screen still goes into stand by cant get into Windows so not a screen issue. Checked The power graphs in the Intel Utilities found that the 3.3V graph is showing the voltage out of range its hitting 2.5V so that could indicate a power supply problem but not sure anybody know what this could be. The computer runs fine with the screen off.

Wow 2.5v is low, but have u checked the volts before the problems started?

Some m/boards have faulty sensors so it might not be that.

What psu do u have by the way and how old?

Cant remember the name off hand its got a huge fan at the bottom. Its about 1 1/2 years old its a 550W power supply. The problem was very rare and then suddenly in the last 2 months just intensified
