@Lupus have you got a modern website link for planned maintenance schedules by City Power? I just find a blank page with a description

Only a mention of planned Eikenhof work found elsewhere.

I do not, mine was via twitter :-(

Imagine you just invested in a brand-new 95dB genie, or a Solar setup only to be told there is no load-shedding, that would not be ayoba..
Solar isn't only for shedding ;-)

When I decided on solar and did my calculations, it was not because of loadshedding. I knew it will end sometime and get better in the short time.
I based my logic on the cost of electricity and the energy independence. No loadshedding is just a benefit.
Investing into something with a payback of 5-7 years, and get to use it for 15-20 years makes economical sense.
Also push up value of property and make it sell faster if that needs to happen.
If I get a peaceful 5-7 years out of it I'll be happy.

Jeeeeezus... two decades later and they're still trying to fix that thing. Thought they'd given up after it burnt down the 2nd time.
What are you talking about? This is maintenance, you know the thing people moan isn't being done?

I think it has been reported on here but Stellenbosch University researchers say if 25% of a suburb has an inverter/battery system with no solar then "the benefits (?) of load shedding are negated entirely."
