They are all AC.

The DC link from moz/Zambia is the exception not the rule.

Ah yeah I just checked, Southern Africa was my mistake as this included a link in Zambia.
Though Eskom did do some investigation for hvdc
 
Well this isn't great. Getting a whopping 80-300w out of my panels. Had to top up the batteries from Eskom after loadshedding this morning.

I guess that's the norm for rain.

300w isn't too bad with rain, but yeah you'll find that during the rainy seasons you'll top up more
 
Looks like the next bump in the road will be the more-or-less Wed. to Fri. weather.
S2 possible, have to wonder if worse is even possible again.

I suppose more maintenance in summer will change things, not too confident they could catch up much.

The power utility currently has 4,376MW of generating capacity offline for planned maintenance, with a further 16,524MW unavailable due to breakdowns.

The increase could be solely due to the environmental waiver granted for the three Kusile units over the weekend. Without it, I don't think they could have planned to have the plants up and running by then.

Could be, or they could've been in the 2400MW that was always listed. From Eskom it's all guess work

Still means something has changed for the worse recently, the constant diesel usage supports that too

In the media briefing earlier today the Eskom manager mentioned they planned to increase maintenance during the winter months if demand was lower. He mentioned they did this over the long weekend.

2300MW over what we had on Friday and 1010MW from the last update on the 11th. Let's hope that the extra planned is the Kusile stuff cause it does kinda add up
