That just stinks of incompetence..Eskom just updated, no load shedding for now, but they had to shutdown koeberg unit 2 this morning.

For 900MW? I mean we have 44GW of coal, the problem is 15GW is down most of the time.It does. Out for about 5 days and back to max power output in 3 days, so a tough 8 days coming along.
I still don't understand that. Why can't any of it get fixed really long term in stages, and why is the *2/3rds that works not affected. For 900MW? I mean we have 44GW of coal, the problem is 15GW is down most of the time.
Last year it was a constant 12GW, this year it's 15, next year 18? Who knows with this trend.I still don't understand that. Why can't any of it get fixed really long term, and why is the *2/3rds that works not affected.
( * In simple terms, I do realise that what goes down isn't always the same 15GW supply.)
So useless maintenance maybe. So far anyway, some new-supply planning is starting to manifest.Last year it was a constant 12GW, this year it's 15, next year 18? Who knows with this trend.
Thats just sad to watch.Last year it was a constant 12GW, this year it's 15, next year 18? Who knows with this trend.
Nope new supply should've been on the cards 8 years ago and almost finished by now. Renewables are not the new supply as it's limited to time of day and of course other factors. So useless maintenance maybe. So far anyway, some new-supply planning is starting to manifest.
Well there are two camps to this.Thats just sad to watch.
Seeing overall generation capacity drop every year when it should be rising
What will those private add ons be?What about the new private add-to-the grid incentives, surely many want in?
Other than individuals with solar etc. like you? Surely many industrial properties would like the opportunity to make something back on their power enhancements..What will those private add ons be?
I would need to change my inverter, mine isn't one that can feedback into the grid, also with the restrictions of feeding back it's not viable.Other than individuals with solar etc. like you? Surely many industrial properties would like the opportunity to make something back on their power enhancements..
And maybe large power co.s from the US etc. seeing opportunity?
I would love to feed into the gridWhat about the new private add-to-the grid incentives, surely many want in?
