And municipalities are Eskom dependent. Eskom stated that it was looking at a R1000 levy for all grid-tied solar systems. As for the DA munies that already have the fixed levy, sorry for you, that will be a 32% plus VAT increase on the levy as well, at the very least.
There is no fixed levy in dbn and we pay flat rate per kWh.

Having just run the numbers for a 32% increase, I'm going "meh, its only 18"... still a pretty big increase tho

Post, but I have a property that is just way too big... Usage is... high...
but then you have that stupid fixed R900 charge before you've used any power?

Why not move to prepaid and save R900?
Did, years ago, had the smart meter and panel thing installed and connected, then they converted to prepaid, worked for like 5 months and then was converted back to postpaid for "reasons" that I could never get answers to... Had someone go into CoJ for the better part of twice a month for a year, got nowhere, and gave up...

And again, our power not restored after 4.5 hours and city power is now so screwed up that they're unable to read their own schedules. They now say that we are again on loadshedding from 8-12

Can someone explain to me...

Why does the bottom black bit go up and down everyday? Thought coal plants were on or off 24/7 for weeks, not switched on for the daytime.

Or is there a negative part of this graph at the bottom for pump storage? Which drags the bit from 0 down to -2000 say, but we don't see it because the graph is cut off?

When eskom is pumping water to fill the dams, typically overnight, it causes a negative value in the chart. if you hover over you can see that the thermal generation number normally stays roughly the same.

You know what I never understood about the graphs

Didn't they lose 5GW of coal between the 9th and 11th? The graphs never seem to align with the losses that they claim

Cool. Thought so. Downloading data need to change my settings as it comes up skew. Commas separated file using commas in the data and semi colons as the separater...

Need to import it properly.
