Close to 31000 demand, tax heaters already
So tax people to fund more corruption?

So another useless tax like sugar tax? What has that achieved?

Maybe Eskom if they can't generate more should cut off the leeches who don't pay for electricity and only supply to municipalities that do...

Or maybe they should pay corrupt contractors for unit uptime instead of each time its repaired...

We need to curb demand, generation is slow and we need to do our part, demand increased by 2000mw in 3 days

Thats actually a brilliant idea hahahahaha
Yea imagine governments had brains... its the easiest solution to fixing corruption pay for uptime, every time something breaks they pay out their pockets... The cost will probably be more or less the same as currently but your machines should work...

Hey their ice cream machines seem to be running whenever i go there (every now and then) so props to BK they should maybe give their contacts to Eskom and Mcdonalds maybe some machines will work elsewhere as well then

Or fine them for downtime, lets see the tenders dry up and only the best will take on the challenge
And when they don't pay?

The only time schit gets done in this country is when money is owed. A fine is a piece of paper. You need to dangle a carrot to get the donkey to do something...

We've 'done our part' for 17 years now and its only gotten worse and more costly... its now time they do theirs or feck off and let someone take over who will

Yes, Stage 4 up to 8pm, but then Stage 6 from 8pm onwards, versus Stage 5 all day up to 10pm. You win some, lose some. There is no magic way to store extra power in Steenbras pumped storage.
To be fair, most people have finished their cooking and most businesses are closed after 8pm so the effects of higher stages aren't that debilitating.

Still, would make more sense to have stage 4 during office hours to minimize the impact to the local economy.

I wonder if we can convince the Chinese or Russians to take over power here, still got to be better than what we've got :X3:

Do we think we’ll have reduced LS this week or will if he stage 6 all the way?

Reduced Wednesday for Thursday onwards will be my bet, for no other reason than demand should come down a bit, temps are a little warmer at night on average across the country. That's assuming nothing else breaks of course lol

We're wrong again. This from Jan's latest thread;

Eskom has announced that it will implement a rotating schedule of stage 5 and stage 6 load-shedding from Tuesday morning.
Stage 6 load-shedding will continue until 05:00 tomorrow. After that, the state-owned power utility will reduce power cuts to stage 5 during the day until 16:00.
