Can't paste 2022s but it was warmer, while Johannesburg was colder. So weather factors 2022 the demand seems legit, not now.
Also factor in more backup power supplies coming online after shedding is restored.

Parts of the article about turning geysers off... we're in two minds about it.
It could help IMO, we stopped leaving our geyser on most of the time years ago and that's saved us plenty.
But this individual control thing is a worry, especially in anc hands

Those devices are already installed in a lot of homes. Some work - a lot don't.
Also, winter is approaching fast. I think whatever they plan on doing, would need to happen in the next 4 weeks.

not much .its 3 wires usually ,neutral ,live from the geyser breaker and the switched wire out to the geyser .no rocket science involved in them .Them geyser ripple control units... what happen if you wrap 'em up in tinfoil?

Still doesn't help for lowering or increasing shedding due to its non dispatchable nature as it's not predictable.
For it to actually effect shedding we would need it to be around 7GW consistently
