May I introduce you to waze?
Google maps shows red if there is a problem. The problem is that there is hardly ever a problem so you don't check the maps religiously until one day you get caught and you just have to hurry up and wait.

Well of course they will, that is a given. I would very likely do the same since my geyser is on a timer and is only on at sparrow fart in the morning so I can have a hot shower in the morning.

But in theory the idea has a small amount of merit, whether its worth the outlay for Eskom is a different story though.
Not really going to help that much due to most geysers having good insulation if modern (standard), it's more older ones/townships that will be an issue, and they're definitely not going to install there.
Otherwise only good if you're getting people that shower during peaks, would make more sense to subsidize solar geysers, and educate minimum temperature people can set it to.

Here's an idea: why don't they fix the 24000MW that is broken then we won't need to worry about lowering demand by 1500MW.

Actually you would be surprised, many townships have new low pressure solar geysers... and the tanks are pretty well insulated. I think its standard with all RDP builds that they get solar geysers these days.

Well they only just got the green light from Squirrel. And he could change his mind again :-/

They did?

I thought he was still trying to make peace with Jamnadas and fatfsck Gwede after they didn't like him doing the Minister of Electricity thing.

Referring to when he said economy first, and that green efforts will continue though.

Not saying they don't have them, just that they're more likely not to upgrade if they have older ones.
