And now you see why demand is higher the higher the stagesI dont know about everyone else but these days as soon as the power is on i make sure phones and batteries are all charged up... Because you never know next time it goes off... If it will come back on again...
It's 19% not sure where 7 popped upSo those that say households only use 7% of power generated are telling fibs
Sounds like a bit of vigilante justice is in order. We've been without power for 22 hours now. Members from the one informal settlement decided to block access to the substation because they want the settlement to be switched on before the actual town. When power to the town is switched on after load-shedding, it trips because of "overloading", so the municipal electricians need to manually switch on sections one by one.
This is the settlement where only 7% of its residents pay for electricity. The SAPS hasn't done a f**king thing and apparently, our useless mayor was supposed to be here with the council to try and find a way to settle the matter. We're still waiting for her or anyone else to do something. The CPF can't do anything and the SAPS won't do anything. Loadshedding starts at 16:00.
I hate this f**cking place![]()

How much % would you say 2000MW is?So those that say households only use 7% of power generated are telling fibs
100% of 2000MWHow much % would you say 2000MW is?
You are the one that gave the 7% figureHow much % would you say 2000MW is?
Clearly you didn't understand the question.100% of 2000MW
Okay, and?You are the one that gave the 7% figure
Sadly we only have one nuclear plant and it's only running at 50% right now, also the world got scared and decided to not go more nuclear.
It is too low a percentage to have such an impact on the fluctuation of demand on the gridOkay, and?
There is a 2000MW difference between 5pm and 6pm. 2000 / 31000MW = 6.45%It is too low a percentage to have such an impact on the fluctuation of demand on the grid
Aah, so it's 7% more at peakThere is a 2000MW difference between 5pm and 6pm. 2000 / 31000MW = 6.45%
I turn that off to conserve battery power on my laptop. Jeepers what a sad state of affairs.Sitting in a dark office. Good thing I have a backlit keyboard![]()
