So our mayor decided that she doesn't give a flying f**k. She's sending the MMC and some other useless tit to come and switch on the power. What she doesn't realize, or just doesn't care about, is that the people blocking access to the substation has been there for 24 hours and they aren't giving an inch until she gets here. Apparently, an attempt to get a court order to remove the f**kers from the scene was made, but that didn't pan out. We'll probably be without power for another 24 hours at this rate.

Things are escalating, and will get ugly soon.

Where is this?

One of these days we'll need a map of what to avoid

Burn the informal settlement down. Then they won't need free power.

Nope. The neighbours one already drives us nuts.
This will be an unpopular opinion no doubt, but at this stage I say let people run gennies whenever. People have lives and livelihoods that are actively evaporating, get some earplugs or make another plan.

Question: Probably nearly the whole of SA
is " af/off " tonight between 20h- 0h30?

We are definitely getting it here.
