But they could afford to "let us off" in the early hours.... this is just political BS. Maybe an attempted distraction re de Ruyter's book too.Of course.
That is for Region C not the entire JHBGuess this is a lie then... Us usual with CP/COJ...
That is for Region C not the entire JHB
*hollow laugh*Everything is back to normal![]()
He's useless. Just another money-sucking parasite that parrots the party's line...![]()
Stage 6 will be with us almost indefinitely: Ramokgopa
Electricity Minister Kgosientso Ramakgopa says Stage 6 power cuts will continue almost indefinitely.www.enca.com
Flip flop.
According to the Minister, the system continues to be under significant strain.
Ramakgopa was briefing the media on Friday on the implementation of the country's energy plan.
"These unplanned outages resulted with Eskom being forced to implement Stage 6 and as Eskom's communication has been saying that it is Stage 6 almost indefinitely," he said.
Very much a clickbait title as per @Jan and staff MO. Nothing new.Might just be a clickbait title, here's what is actually reported;
So he's just mentioning that Eskom's communications have been saying stage 6 almost indefinately, at this stage. Nothing about winter...![]()
Dont say he is just mentioning this and that when what you should say is what was reported onMight just be a clickbait title, here's what is actually reported;

Well so much for that, power still went off
(Region C)
This region is home to Roodepoort and much of its surrounding developments in Johannesburg's centre and north, with areas such as Florida to the southeast and Bram Fischerville to the south.
Where we are
To the south is Braamfischerville and its extensions. In the north (Region A) and east (Regions B and E), it shares boundaries with largely prosperous residential areas. Its southern border makes the northern boundary of Region D, around Slovoville, Dobsonville, Meadowlands and Orlando.
Yep, but that's a ENCA article in this case.Very much a clickbait title as per @Jan and staff MO. Nothing new.
That’s not what he said. So no idea why MyBB want to report false news…
That last part, sure, if they don't sort out the sabotage (and that's if some of them even want to)Dont say he is just mentioning this and that when what you should say is what was reported on
He did mention winter at least 5-6 times in the media briefing on Friday
Yes, stage 6 will be around for while
I prefer watching his media briefings, too many critical details are left out in the print mediaYep, but that's a ENCA article in this case.
That last part, sure, if they don't sort out the sabotage (and that's if some of them even want to)
Still misquoted
Edit: Meant that nothing was said about winter / the future in that particular respect (the title), was totally twisted.
More importantly
Does anyone here believe we could be on stage 6 yesterday morning @ 1am, then stage 0 this morning @ 1am, then stage 6 tomorrow morning @ 1am?????
Bullshyte!!!
Makes sense, nighttime uphill is against gravity so more effort required.Yes
Yes. Pumped storage capacity is about 3000MW. If it's flowing in one direction you have a surplus of 3000MW, and in the other direction a defecit of 3000MW. That is actually the way that pumped storage is supposed to operate under normal circumstances.
So presume they did use extra OCGTs to force it. Question is why, just a distraction for de Ruyter's book release maybeAt other times Eskom has been forced to do all sorts of weird things like using OCGTs at night to replenish pumped storage, so you never get down to stage 0.
