PowerbI Update Error

Hello all


So a colleague created a Powerbi doc and i need to update it

What i do is use a virtual machine (remote desktop) to reload the model from SQL and then dump it back into a share drive

However now that im in the virtual machine i cannot open the doc

On my local machine i have a workaround which is open PBI from the store, not ideal but it works

anyone know how to fix as PBI doesnt really have an update

its weird that PBI isnt like excel, if something is created in a newer version you wont be able to open it

that worked for me

You could also try running

winget upgrade Microsoft.PowerBI

from a non-admin Powershell window to update PowerBI Desktop from the Winget Package manager.
