Hey Guys,

So I have never bought a Powercolor card in my life and Wootware has great special on the RX480 8GB for R4000.
IS this a good buy or should I rather look at a different brand. Has anyone bought the card discussed, how is the performance. I just want to play Battlefield 1 and Ghost Recon Wildlands in Full HD.

I have bought a few Powercolor cards from them during the years, all good, no complaints. With that card, i don't think you'll have issues playing those two games.
My last card I bought begininng last year, Powercolor R9 380x. Plays everything I throw at it.

Great card, buy it.

Seriously, not much else to say! Good brand too.

Thanks I have been an Nvidia Fanboy, but at this stage anything that can play at 60fps and 1080p is a win for me.
I like the 8GB memory I think this future proofs it a little bit.

I've got one (I bought it on special for 4.3K from Wootware; why is it just getting cheaper and cheaper ffs?) and it's great.

Presuming you are playing at 1080p and have a decent CPU, it will play just about any game at max settings.

At that price point you have two options the powercolor rx480 8gb & galax 1060 6gb. Both will do the job.

If there is a specific game you play most of the time (gta v in my case) look at the benchmarks maybe as at times there can be a big difference on how titles run on a specific gpu. But overall they are much of a muchness.

I have the R9 290 and not a day's problems with it since purchasing it two/three years ago.

I can't fault the brand, and supplied by wootware which has amazing after service. Won't even bat an eye :p

Almost time for an upgrade :D

I paid R4799 for my Powercolor Radeon RX 480 8GB 256bit GDDR5 PCI-E 3.0

But OP , no problems ... it's a great card.

Yea, I really really really want to. But to swing it past the wife though... bleh

I dunno, at 1080p the 290 is still doing pretty well, I looked at the performance of a 290x vs 480x and came to the conclusion that it's not worth it to upgrade for the performance gain you will see. Maybe Vega? will be worth it.

My whole system is from 2014 and I'm still playing most titles on high detail 1080p at decent frame rates. I also want to upgrade but honestly pc tech seemed to have slowed down a lot the last 4 years. Maybe it will be worth upgrading next year when games and software make more use of CPU's 16 cores etc, but presently it will just be a waste of money.

Yeah I paid the same price for my gtx1060 and now it's R4k, grates my ass. But as they say in afrikaans, C'est La Vie.

My MSI Rx480 8GB is running like a dream playing BF1 and Battlegrounds, so assuming you have a nice CPU you shouldn't have any problems.

Powercolor is a decent brand and at that price I would go for it!!

I kinda feel dumb for buying the 4 x 2 Crucial Memory. The board only has two slots, so kinda shot myself in the foot. Overall my pc upgrade for 2016/2017 cost me about 9K

Ya its cheap for 9k what you got...you could always just sell the ram and get 8 X 2 memory modules
