Good morning all

Was anybody successful in forcing the link speed of an Ethernet NIC from one speed to another with the use of Powershell?

I have an Intel server here, the one link stubbornly remains at 10Gbps, but I need to connect it to a 1Gbps switch for now, before placing it into production (and reverting back to 10Gbps).

Thanks.

why dont you manually specifiy the link speed on both the server nic and the switch.Dont let one side be auto and the other manual.

I did that with an Intel server and Intel NIC as you described with no problems. Remember that Hyyer-V creates an internal switch to the guests. That will remain at 10G but the host will be at 1G.
