Greetings iBursters,
I was recently donated an outdoor Poynting Omini-A0072 antenna by a friend who no longer has use for it. This is the critter:

Unfortunately, it is missing the appropriate pigtail to hook up to my UTD - I have the older beige unit. Please advise if this is the right one to get:

I read on various forums that the correct pigtail will have some sort of switching mechanism to de-activate the included antenna - not sure if that is what the MMCX is all about? Also, at least in Australia, it seems that there is a difference in the physical antenna interfaces between their older and newer iBurst modems - is that the case here as well?
In recent months my iBurst speed has dropped to an average of below 200 Kbit/s, I'm hoping that with the flexibility of the long cable on the antenna I can put it in a position where my UTD does less channel hopping between two towers - one is close and one quite far. The current position of my UTD allows me to position the antenna in one of two positions; one of which will hopefully increase the signal of the closest tower and reduce the signal of a further one so that it only attaches in the event of the closest one being unavailable / overloaded.
Thanks for any info,
RatX
