Poynting Yagi for Iburst - Test reception

hi all

I live in a limited reception zone in the cradle of humankind (type "protea ridge" in google maps) - Vodacom 3G signal is great ( just costly)

I have an Iburst Omni on my roof, and while i have all the signal strength LEDs on, the data rate is terrible.
old IBurst beige modem (if that means something to anybody)

I went past Poynting and they have an impressive yagi antenna available +/- R2500 - so the question is . . . .

Is there a company in Gauteng that will come to my house and test the reception before i buy?
I am willing to pay a reasonable service fee ( travel / labour)

or is it better to cut my losses and go the WUG route?

You must be at about 9km and yesa directional antennae will make a difference. Buy it from them and if it doesn't work return it within 7 days and get your money back.
