Just got myself an Ethernet cable (thanks Dean) and have been trying to configure my Smoothwall box with PPPoE.

I've got two NIC's in the firewall box, one hooked up to my hub and then to other PC's and the other is connected to the Sentech modem.

From the browser interface, this is the Smoothwall PPPoE setup screen :-

Is there any settings that should be in here that I don't have ?

It can't get it to connect.

<br />I have no advice to give for a piece of software that takes any, and all kind of control away from the user.

You shouldn't even need to "dial" with a number on PPPoE, so I really have no faith in that product.

It's a Linux firewall, you can change the settings in bash if you want - the screenshot is just the web interface.

I'll give IPCOP a try.

Hmm, IPCOP is just another iteration of Smoothwall - almost identical setup. Totally stumped with this Linux PPPoE dealie.

Will have to research more 2morrow... time to chill :)
